On July 23, 2025, Harmony Centre for Community Living proudly celebrated its 50th Anniversary, marking five decades of supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families throughout the Red Lake and Ear Falls district.
The celebration brought together individuals supported by the organization, families, employees, volunteers, community partners, and past and present members of the Harmony Centre community to reflect on the organization’s rich history and the many achievements made possible through collaboration, dedication, and inclusion.
Held outside at Harmony Centre’s 26 Young Street location in Red Lake, the event recognized the organization’s incorporation on July 23, 1975, and highlighted fifty years of growth, advocacy, and commitment to helping individuals live meaningful lives as valued members of their communities.
Guests enjoyed opportunities to connect, share memories, and learn more about the organization’s journey from its early beginnings to the diverse range of supports and services provided today. A special “Spotlight on Voices” activity invited attendees to reflect on the impact Harmony Centre has had on individuals, families, employees, and the broader community over the past five decades.
The celebration also featured remarks from community leaders and former Executive Director Margaret Kudlowsky, who served the organization for 35 years before retiring in 2022. Her reflections highlighted the dedication of employees, volunteers, families, and community partners who have helped shape Harmony Centre into the organization it is today.
As Harmony Centre looks to the future, the organization remains committed to promoting inclusion, choice, independence, and community participation while continuing to evolve and respond to the changing needs of the individuals it supports.
The 50th Anniversary celebration served as both a tribute to the past and an opportunity to recognize the many people whose contributions have strengthened the organization over the years. Harmony Centre extends its sincere gratitude to everyone who joined in celebrating this important milestone and to all those who have been part of its journey over the past 50 years.
