Our mission is to champion inclusion and empower people who live with developmental disabilities to live full, meaningful lives. ​

For more than 50 years, Harmony Centre for Community Living has been a trusted part of the Red Lake community, supporting adults with developmental disabilities across residential support, community participation, employment services, and family supports. We provide services to over 30 individuals in the Red Lake and Ear Falls district. Our staff are the heart of everything we do — dedicated professionals whose compassion and expertise bring our mission to life every day. The Harmony Centre for Community Living is looking for candidates who are enthusiastic, caring and resilient and seeking a career that makes a difference in someone's life every day. As a Full Time Support Staff of our Community Accommodations Program, you will provide opportunities for the person(s) supported to experience growth, quality of life, inclusion and equality within our community to their fullest potential. You will support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in accordance with their support plan. This will center on the home and include supports for daily living which involves ensuring a clean and safe living environment, assisting with personal hygiene, administering medications, planning and preparing meals and meeting transportation needs.

Community Accommodations Support Staff must be ready to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights along with weekends and statutory holidays. Full Time Support staff may be required to be ON-CALL during a four-week rotation on weekends.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Threshold Competencies (flexibility, self-control, service orientation, values and ethics)
  • Excellent Communication Skills - both oral and written
  • Competent Computer Skills and Internet Experience
  • Experience in a team environment is essential, but also the ability to work alone is also essential
  • A secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • A diploma in the field of Developmental or Social Services is preferred but not required as we provide on-the-job training for those entering the field for the first time
  • A valid Driver's License and maintenance of an acceptable driving record
  • Vulnerable Sector Check required

Full-time positions come with a great benefit package with competitive medical and dental components and employer/employee matched pension plan at 3% after three months.

Salary range of $23.35-$24.61 per hour.

Work plays a pivotal role in defining an individual's quality of life and plays a major role in a person's overall experience. The primary focus of our Supported Employment Program (SEP) is to assist adults both physically and developmentally challenged to obtain and maintain employment in a community setting. As a Job Coach you will support individuals engage in meaningful work opportunities.

Our team promotes independence and inclusion, as well as champions safe work environments. As a Job Coach you will assist with the following programs/initiatives: individual Community-based employment (volunteer and paid), Work Team responsible for Lawn Care, Work Team responsible for Snow Removal, Work Team responsible for Laundry. You will assist in fulfilling annual contracts with existing customers as well as explore potential work experiences for program participants. You will work out of our main Day Program building in Red Lake, ON, however will spend much of your time on work sites with our various teams in all weather conditions.

The right candidate will be able to demonstrate analytical reasoning, the ability to teach/instruct others with a multitude of learning styles, and have excellent interpersonal skills as well as written and oral communications skills. Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate a variety of responsibilities will be an asset. Full-time positions come with a great benefit package with competitive medical and dental components and employer/employee matched pension plan at 3% after three months.

Salary range between $23.77-$24.86 per hour dependent on experience and education.

  • Post-Secondary Degree / Diploma in Human Services field or equivalent.
